Note: This simulator models forward time dilation (special & gravitational relativity). Backwards time travel is not modeled — physical theories do not support macroscopic backward time travel. Equations used: γ = 1/√(1−v²/c²), φ_g = √(1−2GM/rc²).

Controls

This demo computes two main effects:
  1. Special relativity — time dilation when moving fast: γ = 1 / √(1−v²/c²).
  2. Gravitational time dilation — approximation from Schwarzschild metric: √(1−2GM/(rc²)).
The net proper-time rate is the product of both factors (approximation for non-rotating spherical mass and moderate velocities).
